if you live in the los angeles area, the great shake out drill will start today. the event is supposed to better prepare persons in the event of a great quake. reps have noted the event also as a celebration (a.k.a. party) of california and the role earthquakes play in the state.

“At 10 a.m. on November 13, join millions of people throughout Southern California in the ShakeOut Drill, the largest earthquake preparedness activity in U.S. history!”

it seems that the recent earthquake has been deemed significant enough to earn itself its own wikipedia entry. you shan’t soon forget the chino hills earthquake of 2008! all joking aside, the recent seismic activity is a clear reminder of how frightening natural forces can be, especially with the eminent “big one” that is predicted to follow. in preparation, the largest earthquake drill in united states history is scheduled on 11/13/08 (Source: The Great Southern California Shake Out).
